Web We Want Festival | Women And The Web

Посмотреть позже
As access to the Web expands and our lives become more entwined with the digital world, the Internet may have the potential to be an opportunity to advance gender equality yet an online gender gap is becoming increasingly apparent. Join digital entrepreneur Baroness Martha Lane Fox CBE, Dame Wendy Hall, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton and Director of the Web Science Institute, Melanie Lenz, Curator of Computer Art at the V&A, and Ruth Nicholls, Managing Director at Young Rewired State, to discuss the reasons behind the gender gap in STEM industries, the representation of women online and in digital communications and how we might balance gender equality in ICT and broadband access and use. Chaired by Jude Kelly OBE, Artistic Director of Southbank Centre and founder of the WOW – Women of the World – festival.
