Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko visited Washington this month to meet with US leaders on the sidelines of the Nuclear Security Summit.

Before Poroshenko's address at the summit, The New York Times published a critical editorial about the Ukrainian government. However, Borys Tarasyuk, a former foreign affairs minister of Ukraine, believes the article said nothing new' and argues journalists shouldn't be giving instructions to governments'.
