Russian Anti-war Protests: Putin sacks governor for rally against Russian invasion of Ukraine

A Russian governor has been sacked by President Vladimir Putin for allowing an anti-Ukraine war protest to take place. Nikolai Denin, the governor of Bryansk, permitted Soviet war veterans to demonstrate last Friday against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
Denin's decision led to him being dismissed for 'losing the president's trust', according to the Kremlin.
Bryansk lies south of Moscow, close to Russia's border with Ukraine. Another public demonstration is due to be held on September 13.
