Putin Welcomes Sanctions: Russian leader said Russian executives should remain at home
Russian President Vladimir Putin has said that he welcomes sanctions imposed by the European Union on Russian officials and State Duma officials during a meeting of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization in the Tajik capital Dushanbe. The Russian leader said that the less Russian officials and corporate executives travel abroad and deal with current affairs instead, the better. Putin said the same applies to State Duma deputies, who should speak to their voters more often. In Moscow, meanwhile, the Russian ruble continued to set records, dropping to another historic low against the dollar.
