Ceasefire Holding Despite Donetsk Airport Battle: Ukrainian army unlikely to retreat

Ukraine's defence spokesman has accused Kremlin-backed insurgents of continuing to violate the ceasefire agreed between Russia and Ukraine in Minsk last month but said the pact has nevertheless improved the situation in the country's war-torn east.

Fighting is ongoing around the strategically important railroad hub town of Debaltseve but Donetsk airport poses the biggest threat to the ceasefire deal.
