Ukrainian Independence Day Preparations: Odesa residents hold ethnic festivals around the city

With Ukraine marking Independence Day, the port city of Odesa has celebrated with a number of different ethnic festivals. Among them was a city-wide bike ride, attended by hundreds of cyclists wearing the Ukrainian flag or traditional Ukrainian clothing. One spectator said he hoped such events would boost the morale of soldiers in east Ukraine, who are fighting an insurgency backed by Russia.
